Wildetect design ideal wildetecture is fauvistic African design, a fervent persuit to create items wholly African inspired. the untamable continent has always marched to its own unique drum beat, whatever and where ever the opressing forces may take or have taken hold. Africa has always held onto its unique identity through thick and thin over the many years. human systems architecture / design – more powerful than bricks and mortar. the wildetect design ideal is to tap into this incredibly powerful drum beat, having recognised its incredible potentail. we have for so long been influenced, wowed and rendered copycat designers by everything over the ocean – europe , america , asia …………… wildetecture is the inspiration of the simplicity of the African dust at our feet, whilst we stand on Muizenberg mountain looking into the sea next to our african coastline. Raw unfettered design concepts from our untamable continent.

The skin being fire , dragon and dragon fly wing in these 3 examples.

As you folk know – here on the very tip of Africa in the cape peninsula is our brilliant fynbos plant kingdom that has thousands of wildetect synaptic creative design opportunities. Meeting with the 2 other wildetects on the slopes of table mountain and using the many unique flowers and floral scapes as inspiration for our architectural and furniture creative designs is our design exploration. The protea family has such incredible flowers that are exceptionally architectural in nature. So it’s really an effortless transition from unique wild plant biodiversity to wildetect sculptured raw timber furniture and architectural design creations.
Taking the very sculptural elements of the pincushion protea and creating a wildetect chair creation was easy given the flowers extremly strong visual characteristics. Wildetecture is a celebration of Africa’s many wild inspirational elements. Wildetecture is fauvistic african design which gets its inspiration from our untamable continent.

the design creative moment in time sparks when all and everything that one has been busy with over time, fuses together into one herculean episode. wildetecture future barnicle city is one such small episode. As wildetect artists we are just observers of time and space and interpret the world through an african experience – this is a wildetect interpretation of a future city scape possibility.

The wildetect office pod anywhere is an attempt to spark creativity whilst setting up a familiar work environment in various outside settings. The idea of setting up this mobile table for meetings with clients or creative work – say on the top of tablemountain, Or Muizenberg beach. Or at the end of kalkbay harbor wall. To carry ones lightweight work pod, nuts and bolts to a destination is an idea that for me would really work. I’m not of the design on the laptop generation. My work environment cannot be defined by a small screen. To be sparked I need a tangible space. The pod provides this bubble. Plus I can invite clients to engage with me in my space – whilst enjoying the scene of my open office.

An alternative african fauvistic skateboard design

This wildetect skateboard design takes wild inspiration from amoeboid cellular shapes, additionally blending shapes from the hammerhead shark, African rhino beetle and a dragons tail to boot. all blended in the mix to create a wildetect African shape ensamble. The aluminum cut-out below sits 3mm proud of the 12mm marine ply board – this is not just for a visual spectacle but allows the aluminum to take the knocks and provide a lightweight solid platform for the shape and cutouts. this set of boards plays with the existing notion that skateboards are full on art pieces – not just in the decals but also within the shape of the board – I’ve raised the trucks really high and been down a few hills of consequence – the problem is I keep looking down to stare at the damn deck and end up plucking buckwheat from tar burns. Logan helped with the design and was a perfect wingman and as far as experimentation with the wildetects style design goes – the cutouts in the deck and the eclectic wild shape down the sides – really adds to this African wild wildetect piece of functional art.

What is a wildetect? A wildetect is an African continent born or raised creative designer that passionately dabbles in all disciplines of design, with the architectural landscape being the principle creative arena. Every wildetect design is a sketch or an experiment towards design perfection – because design perfection can never be attained, we are principally creative design concept experimentalists, CDCE. Endeavoring to create better human occupied space, wildetects are seen as human space sculptures. HS2 For a wildetect to be given the honor of this mantel they need to prove themselves in the architectural design arena principally and then the other design disciplines. Graphics, fashion, music, interior design, industrial design, advertising, furniture design etc. endeavoring and working towards the elusive nirvana of becoming a multi disciplinary creative designer. Wildetect design sketches cross pollinate between all the disciplines. wildetects have resolved to push through the MC2B and endeavor to create at any and all opportunities. Never to show arrogance in design but to experiment with form, function and aesthetics in a multi dimensional arena – pushing the boundaries of creative human thought with each new sketch. By definition wildetect creative designs are multi dimensional and multi disciplinary, welding all forms of creative endeavor into one – wildetects are not design specialists but embrace all creative disciplines and ideas – welding all design disciplines into one. This is what wildetecture endeavors to do. One is born a wildetect creative - it is not a learned discipline. Only the unanimous vote of 3 fellow wildetects can bestow this title onto another. This is what a wildetect is.

Designing without a web browser open in the background, is that possible? An endless stream of inspiration or is it a endless stream of boundaries which we are creating in our minds? Not the Wildetect’s. They have realized that what we have when we look outside is buildings which are the static architecture all around us. When you look at art from greats such as Van Gogh or Carvaggio it is immediately apparent, a dynamic energy is bound in the art.’
